Outfit of the day. Silk top from Forever 21. Pants, Alice and Olivia, Cardigan is Theory. Shoes are Louboutin and voila.. loving my new belt from BCBG. Sort of Hermes ‘ish’ but without the price tag.
Oh and it’s sunny in Dallas.
Decided late last night while lying awake in my hotel room that I’d train for a half-marathon. I’ve signed up for a half once before but have gotten injured to the point of barely being able to walk, so to this day have never raced in a half.
This time I need to follow a proper training program.
Signed up for runkeeper elite. Then registered for runkeeper’s half-marathon training program.
Started off today with 5 miles. Supposed to run at a 10 min pace, so went a bit too quickly.
Love, love the prompts from the program. It feels like I’m running with a personal coach!
It’s not too hot yet in Dallas - perfect running weather.
Two miles, three sets of 20 reps dumbbell swings using 30# dumbbells. Lame, but all I could fit in.
Meanwhile I’m in Dallas, Texas where everything is bigger. Much bigger. The nacho plate we ordered last night was practically the size of me.
Fran: 21-15-9 Thrusters and Pull-Ups.
A bit scary doing pull-ups again after getting Rhabdo from Angie and two months off but went for it, scaled weight at 40# and did pull-ups with a red band. We were told to pick a weight that allowed us to do the first 21 thrusters unbroken.
The last 9 pull-ups, I had to do one at a time.
CF WOD. Admittedly, I now completely suck at CF. Slow and weak - two months off and sadly, I’m back to square one.
I did l overhead squats using just 35#..
Unhappy face.
My boss is awesome. She’s so freakin’ on it and knows the ‘hong bao’ red envelope tradition.
Showed up at the office and one of these was on my desk - she rocks!
